What can I say? With every day that passes, I get more and more excited for Christopher Nolan’s next installment in the Batman franchise. To bide my time, I thought we could take a look back at all the men who have played the Caped Crusader on the silver screen and figure out who did it best. Let’s get to it:

This production was doomed from the start but it’s for reasons beyond just nipples on the bat suit. Even Clooney agrees he was easily the worst to take the part. Continue reading

As I’ve said before, I follow movies from start to finish. From concept and pitch, to casting, through pre and post production, until we are graced with the final product on the big screen. Sadly, when movies finally make it to us they tend to be a bit of a let down. That’s why the trailer has always been the peak of the movie going experience for me. Previews tend to be the best short version of any story told on film… after all, that’s how they get you to buy a ticket. Even if the end product sucks, the trailer can sell you on an idea and it’s potential.

Below I’ve listed my 5 all time favorites. I have to say before we dive in that I got this idea from my good buddy Heather over at Movie Mobsters who did one of these a while back and I was jealous and wanted to do my own. We no doubt have some similar opinions on the matter but, what can I say? Great minds think alike!

Anyway, here ya go (in order): Continue reading

So, my homeys over at Movie Mobsters posted a very interesting question on Facebook last week. Here it is:

Is Inception the best movie of the year and Christopher Nolan’s best film?

My answer to this was “yes” and “no”. Inception is by far the best film I’ve seen this year. Outside of animated films, it’s not even a close race. However, is it Nolan’s best work? I don’t think so. So, I’ve set out to do the near impossible and rank Christopher Nolan’s short but impressive filmography. As you know, Christopher Nolan was ranked #1 on my list of DIRECTORS THAT GET MY DOLLARS. The only filmmakers that come close in quality in recent years, in my opinion, again, are the fellas over there at Pixar. I love a challenging list so let’s do it. Here they are (in order): Continue reading

Posted in Ongoing Lists, Scenes That Kick Ass with tags , , , on May 26, 2010 by Kaiderman

It’s time for a new entry into the pantheon of scenes that KICK ASS. The theory behind this post is this…

Some movies have a scene in them that is so awesome it can make the whole film worth watching. A scene that can make a bad film good and a great film better. A scene so good that it KICKS ASS… hence the title of the post. This week, we are featuring a clip from the movie:

Now, I have to apologize for the quality of this video but this is the only scene I could think of that could follow Alec Baldwin in Glengarry Glen Ross. It’s a widescreen version with some Warner Brothers stamps on it and has a Soulja Boy ad at the end but it’s a necessary evil, I’m afraid. So, that all said, I present you with one of my favorite scenes of all time:

That’s it for now, Smokers, Jokers & Midnight Tokers. Feel free to comment below. I never edit any of the comments. Remember, this was meant to be an interactive site, as much as I love the sound of my own voice.

Check back Saturday as that is when new posts go up. Have a great week and remember… The Dark Knight is not the film where Martin Lawrence travels back to Mid-evil times!!!
