Before we get started, I suppose I should tell  those of you not “in the know” that Jo-Go is the celebrity nickname I’m attempting to get to catch on for the wonderful young actor Joseph Gordon Levitt. Just so you know, “Operation Jo-Go” as we like to call it has officially become a movement. Join us on our Facebook page to support the cause by clicking here!!!

Back to the task at hand… I’ve been lacking on my lists lately so it’s time to get back on task. I’ve been meaning to do some lists featuring individual actors for some time. I figured who better to start with then the man himself: JO-GO! Here are my TOP 5 JO-GO MOVIES (in order): Continue reading

OPERATION “JO-GO”

Posted in Celebrities, JO-GO, Quickies with tags , , , , on August 7, 2010 by Kaiderman

I don’t know about you guys but I fell in love with Joseph Gordon Levitt after seeing the film Brick. The kid proved he was more than a child actor. He proved he had the potential to be a big star. With Inception under his belt, and a possible turn in Batman 3 right around the corner, he may soon be one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. That’s why I’m doing this now.

I am making it my goal to turn Joseph Gordon Levitt into Jo-Go. I can’t do this alone people so help me out. A few people have already started to help the movement… thanks to the folks at The Dark of the Matinee and  Frankly, My Dear. But it’ll take more than that to make it happen. So, next time you see this man, remember…

… he is Jo-Go.

Look, I’ve tried to make things take off before and failed miserably. For instance, I realize people will never go back to pleated acid washed jeans… I see that now… I get it… but this one is do-able. Make it happen, people!!!

RANKING CHRISTOPHER NOLAN’S FILMS

So, my homeys over at Movie Mobsters posted a very interesting question on Facebook last week. Here it is:

Is Inception the best movie of the year and Christopher Nolan’s best film?

My answer to this was “yes” and “no”. Inception is by far the best film I’ve seen this year. Outside of animated films, it’s not even a close race. However, is it Nolan’s best work? I don’t think so. So, I’ve set out to do the near impossible and rank Christopher Nolan’s short but impressive filmography. As you know, Christopher Nolan was ranked #1 on my list of DIRECTORS THAT GET MY DOLLARS. The only filmmakers that come close in quality in recent years, in my opinion, again, are the fellas over there at Pixar. I love a challenging list so let’s do it. Here they are (in order): Continue reading

HEY, CLOCK… TICK FASTER!!!

I have to apologize because I would normally put a new post up today but I am faaaaaar too busy holding my breath. Keep your fingers crossed that this one lives up to the hype! If it does, being that it is an original screenplay, it could have a tremendous effect on the industry going forward. I think it will do fine but apparently Warner Brothers still feels the need to try and capitalize off  the success of the Dark Knight. What do you think?

Eerily similar, wouldn’t you say? Anyway, to keep you entertained until Saturday, allow me to share this audio of a recent phone call between Mel Gibson and Christian Bale. Just so you know, this may be one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard! Check it out:

2009 FILM REVIEW (AND A PREVIEW OF 2010)

If last week’s traffic taught me anything, it’s that you like it when your friendly neighborhood Kaiderman talks film. Which is great because if there’s one thing I can do, it’s talk about film at great, great, often disturbingly great length. So here goes:

Being that it’s nearing the end of the year, we are being inundated with “Best Of” lists. So, I really didn’t want to do one. However, the more of them I read, the more and more I disagree and wanted to voice my own opinion. That of the fan and not of the critic. Technically, I should be doing the “Best Of The Decade” list (the decade ends this year, not next year… do the math). Unfortunately, due to the foolish ways of my youth, most of the decade is somewhat of a blur to me. So, I settle for this. Not really a best and worst list. More like a list of my favorites and biggest disappointments. We’ll start with: Continue reading
