BATMANS? BATMEN? Whatever!

What can I say? With every day that passes, I get more and more excited for Christopher Nolan’s next installment in the Batman franchise. To bide my time, I thought we could take a look back at all the men who have played the Caped Crusader on the silver screen and figure out who did it best. Let’s get to it:

5. GEORGE CLOONEY.

This production was doomed from the start but it’s for reasons beyond just nipples on the bat suit. Even Clooney agrees he was easily the worst to take the part. Continue reading

TOP 5 TRAILERS

Posted in Batman, Movie Trailers with tags , , , , , , on July 31, 2010 by Kaiderman

As I’ve said before, I follow movies from start to finish. From concept and pitch, to casting, through pre and post production, until we are graced with the final product on the big screen. Sadly, when movies finally make it to us they tend to be a bit of a let down. That’s why the trailer has always been the peak of the movie going experience for me. Previews tend to be the best short version of any story told on film… after all, that’s how they get you to buy a ticket. Even if the end product sucks, the trailer can sell you on an idea and it’s potential.

Below I’ve listed my 5 all time favorites. I have to say before we dive in that I got this idea from my good buddy Heather over at Movie Mobsters who did one of these a while back and I was jealous and wanted to do my own. We no doubt have some similar opinions on the matter but, what can I say? Great minds think alike!

Anyway, here ya go (in order): Continue reading

RANKING CHRISTOPHER NOLAN’S FILMS

So, my homeys over at Movie Mobsters posted a very interesting question on Facebook last week. Here it is:

Is Inception the best movie of the year and Christopher Nolan’s best film?

My answer to this was “yes” and “no”. Inception is by far the best film I’ve seen this year. Outside of animated films, it’s not even a close race. However, is it Nolan’s best work? I don’t think so. So, I’ve set out to do the near impossible and rank Christopher Nolan’s short but impressive filmography. As you know, Christopher Nolan was ranked #1 on my list of DIRECTORS THAT GET MY DOLLARS. The only filmmakers that come close in quality in recent years, in my opinion, again, are the fellas over there at Pixar. I love a challenging list so let’s do it. Here they are (in order): Continue reading

HANDLING THE JOKER IN BATMAN 3

Posted in Batman, Comic Book Movies, DC Comics, The Dark Knight with tags , , , , , , , on June 24, 2010 by Kaiderman

Let’s face it… Heath Ledger‘s passing a couple years back was truly tragic. It ranks right up there with my wife (Editor-in-Chief) having several drinks on a night out and then passing out right before happy fun time!

Seriously though, on the heels of giving one of the greatest performances in cinematic history, it truly is a shame. However, the franchise must go on. Which leaves Christopher Nolan and his creative team with the daunting task of how to proceed with the 3quel. After all, the Joker was supposed to play a huge role in the 3rd film as well. In my opinion, there’s 3 ways to handle the situation. I present them to you here: Continue reading
