5 THINGS I LOVE IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW – 03/03/2011
What we have here is a possible new recurring post wherein we… well, I think it’s pretty self-explanatory. Check it out:
5. KYLE BORNHEIMER.
Bornheimer is probably best known for a commercial he did a few years back where he left a very awkward message on the machine of a girl whose number he had just got (a great homage to the classic Swingers scene). He then killed as the Ben Stiller type character on the Meet the Parents style show called Worst Week. The series was short-lived but he’s back on NBC Thursday nights on the show Perfect Couples where he, as usual, kills as the straight man. Somebody get this guy a film!
4. THE FARRELLY BROTHERS.
For a while there, the Farrelly Bros were the kings of comedy harkening back to the 80’s when comedy was still great. They’ve been on the downslide with their last several pictures. However, regardless of box office, I think Hall Pass looks great and can’t wait to see what they do with their Three Stooges flick. Here’s hoping for a return to form.
3. SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE.
SNL seems to go up and down in, not only popularity but, quality. Still, after watching the 30 year behind the scenes retrospective they just aired, I can’t help be happy that a show like this not only continues to air but simply exists at all.
2. CHARLIE SHEEN.
I wasn’t a fan of 2 and 1/2 Men or Charlie Sheen for that matter but the 2 are turning in some of the best entertainment out there as of late as Sheen displays his madness on a series of exclusive interviews… they be “exclusives” is funny in its own right! I would never laugh at someone with addiction issues but he claims he’s clean so I have no problem laughing at his insane outbursts!
1. LUKE MATHENY & DAVID SEIDLER.
All in all, this year’s Oscars was the most boring I can remember. One bright star in any award show though is the people who nail their acceptance speeches. Especially when it’s people you’ve probably never heard of or it’s in a category you could care less about. Major props to these 2 gentlemen, who won the Best Live Action Short & Best Original Screenplay respectively, for making speeches that were not only memorable but hilarious!

When he ran on stage, I thought he was going to be an awkward Napolean Dynamite type but he was awesome.
