All right, they’re really space ships but how often do you get to use the word vessel on a daily basis? Here’s my top 5 (in order in awesome):

Why is the BSG so important? Only cause it holds the fate of humanity in it’s hands. I’m not going to spend a ton of time arguing this pick. Either you’ve watched BSG and totally agree or you haven’t and should go slam your head into a brick wall fifty or a thousand times! Continue reading

We’re sorry but there’s no one here to write your post today. Please leave a comment and we’ll get back to you at our earliest convenience!

That’s right, folks. I’m taking the day off to play a little golf with Fletch. As far as a winner, much like the Highlander, there can be only one. Luckily, I’ll be doing my best Ty Webb…

Black Swan, The Fighter, Inception, The Kids Are All Right, The King’s Speech, 127 Hours, The Social Network, Toy Story 3, True Grit, Winter’s Bone

Who should win: Probably, The Social Network

Who will win: The Social Network

Barring an upset, this one seems a foregone conclusion.

BEST DIRECTOR NOMINEES: (Black Swan) Darren Aronofsky, (The Fighter) David O. Russell, (The King’s Speech) Tom Hooper, (The Social Network) David Fincher, (True Grit) Joel Coen and Ethan Coen

Who should win: Probably, Tom Hooper

It’s The Social Networks’ year and this award rarely goes to a director that didn’t direct the Best Picture. Continue reading

So, this is a few days late but very worth mentioning. Apparently, Anne Hathaway has been cast to play Selina Kyle (aka: Catwoman) in Christopher Nolan’s next Batman film.

In addition to this revelation, it was announced that Tom Hardy, who was cast a few months back for an undisclosed role, will be taking on the part of Bane. He certainly can pull off the look:

For those of you that don’t know Bane, aside from the way he was ridiculously portrayed in Schumacher’s Batman & Robin with George Clooney, he’s actually pretty cool villain from Batman’s rogues gallery. In the comics, he even broke Batman’s back and nearly ended his crime fighting career.

I am super stoked about the Hathaway and Catwoman news but am a little depressed to hear they pursued the Bane route instead of bringing a Penguin or Riddler into what just might be Nolan’s last turn at the helm of this franchise. What do you guys think???
Is it just me???

Another podcast I listen to recently came up with their own drinking game. Seeing as we are the podcast that encourages drinking more than any other, it seemed like a great idea to steal. I mean, let’s be honest, we need our own.

Scroll down and check out the rules & disclaimer. If you have any ideas for rules we should add, leave your suggestions in the comments section at the bottom of this post. If we like them, we’ll use them and add them to the final rules when we announce them on the podcast Super Bowl weekend (February 6th). For now, check out the rules:

Take a drink everytime Heather says “fantastical”.
Take a drink everytime Heather says “funsies”.
Take a drink everytime Heather talks about James Cameron.
Take a drink everytime Heather mentions the film Aliens.
Take a drink everytime Heather talks about boobies.
Take a drink everytime Heather talks about how hot another girl is.
Finish your drink everytime Heather says something “pooped in her Cheerios”.

Take a drink everytime Kai says “fantastic”.
Take a drink everytime Kai says “Let me ask you this…”.
Take a drink everytime Kai talks about Zombies.
Take a drink everytime Kai tells a joke that bombs.
Finish your drink everytime Kai brings up rape.
Finish your drink everytime Kai goes on a side tangent during the What We’ve Been Watching segment.

Take a drink everytime you hear a Steve Bush segment bumper song.
Take a drink if we have outtakes (it makes them funner).

That’s it for now! We hope to have some more before the episode goes up but stay tuned and have your drink ready on the 6th of February. Now, to be responsible, please read the following DISCLAIMER:

We here at the MILFcast to not encourage heavy drinking.
Do not drink if you have a drinking problem.
If you have a problem, please get help.
Do not play this game and then operate an automobile or heavy machinery or equipment.
This game is meant to be fun and not used as an excuse for abusing alcohol.
Drinking heavily can lead to sex with fat and/or fugly chicks.
Please drink responsibly!!!

Our buddy Katie over at THE STORIES THAT REALLY MATTERED came up with a great MEME for her fellow Fanboy bloggers. The idea is simple: Which do you prefer? Marvel or DC Comics? Obviously, I’m a Marvel. Here’s my Top 5 reasons why:

DC loses for not having a Stan Lee. The man who started Marvel makes you want to read his comics with his enthusiasm alone. He is, not only an icon but, a bit of a character himself and his charm and enthusiasm are just so contagious.

Honestly, with the exception of Batman, I’ve never been a fan of the big DC characters. Whereas, I love just about everyone running around the Marvel universe. I think that’s mainly due to the fact that DC characters always seemed (Batman excluded) other-worldly and inaccessible. The Marvel characters were always so human… be it Iron Man’s drinking problem or Peter Parker’s inability to be as cool as his alter ego. Somehow, Marvel always makes the man inside the costume as interesting as the stuff they do with them on.

Don’t get me wrong! It’s not like I haven’t had a few Wonder Woman fantasies in my day. Linda Carter knows what I’m talkin’ about. However, the girls of the Marvel universe just take the cake. Mary Jane Parker? I like the sound of that!

2. MARVEL vs. DC.

Many of you probably don’t know (or remember) this but in the 90’s, Marvel and DC did a crossover comic where the 2 worlds collided. The fans voted on who would win the major battles and you know what? Marvel came out on top… because they are better.

I couldn’t go around calling myself your friendly neighborhood Kaiderman and then be a DC, could I?

Anyone can bring you a list of the Top 5 Brad Pitt films. We here at THE LIST like to spend a little time with the other awesome actors in Hollywood. Like the certifiably bat shit insane Gary Busey. Funny thing is, at one time, he was a pretty damn good actor. Want proof? Then check out what I consider to be his Top 5 films. Before we jump in, a couple quick mentions:

EXCLUSIONS: While he was great in it, I’m excluding Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas because his part is so small that I’m not sure I’d call it a “Busey film”.

HONORABLE MENTION: Okay, I’ve never seen the film but, according to IMDB, Busey played the part of Blind Master in a film called The Hand Job in 2005. That is too funny. I had to mention it!

So, let’s jump in. Here’s my Top 5 (in order):

Who has 2 thumbs and knew that Busey did 2 awesome surf films? This guy right here. If you haven’t seen this film, do yourself a favor. It’s arguably the greatest surf film ever made outside of Endless Summer. Continue reading
